Sediment zoo

Today I would like to present to you some of the strange creatures that live down there on the sea floor. Unfortunate for them, luck for us – they got caught by our multicorer while we were sediment sampling.
caught on 19 July at Station 14, Latitude 76degree53'N, Longitude 127degree47'E, water depth 64m

caught on 26 July at Station 35, Latitude

For several sediment sampling casts we attached a GOPRO camera on the multicorer and got some cool videos of how the tubes hit the bottom of the sea and are then dragged up again. Too bad that the size of those files is way too big to send them! But here I can at least show you a screenshot of the one with most action – internally already baptized "The Laptev Sea Star Massacre". Special attention on the tube on the right side...
