This is such a cliché but: I am tired! Gosh. We had one day (night) that was calmer, and I caught up on the backlog of stuff to do, and got some “extra” sleep (I slept for 7 hours) but this totally screwed up my rhythm. I felt worse than ever when getting up (yesterday at 16:00).

I had a meeting with my supervisor Örjan yesterday afternoon, along with Igor, Tommaso, Volker and Alexander – coauthors on the paper. We talked about the comments that we have gotten from other scientists (review comments) on a manuscript that I had sent in before the expedition. It was a very good meeting and we got far in how to answer and adjust the manuscript accordingly.

The meeting I had was preceded by me almost stepping into the lap of Lisa, Örjan and Tommaso (her two supervisors) that had a meeting before ours. They were also talking about a manuscript. One that Lisa is writing. So in the middle of the intense work we are also putting in effort in doing other tasks in between. To be efficient though you need to define small tasks that you can do in a small amount of time that does not take a great deal of concentration. To do proper writing you need to keep an undivided attention to the task though.

Depspite being tired I had a great day. I got to do a submersible pump station as well as a four bottle GoFlo-cast. It went really well. I was on top of things. I think we set some kind of record me and Henry actually. We were really efficient. Only 1hour 40 min for four bottles a´60 liters. Only small thing was a glitch in a switch to the control of the submersible pump that made us nervous for a while, but Axel from the crew came and saved us, and we could start pumping water onboard to the 1000L-tanks.
