EMMA 20140724

I have been (informally) awarded a duct tape award reading: “Peristaltic queen” today! On the system where we filter dissolved things in the water (dissolved matter is that which is left in the water once the particles are removed which often gives water its colour). Tea for example – is coloured though the tea leaves are removed and thus has dissolved matter in it – we had one working pump and one broken; these are peristaltic pumps that apply positive pressure (pushes the water forward). We had been trying to fix it before but it didn’t seem to work. I got really frustrated today and took it all apart and put it back together again – and it now WORKS. I am so happy, we can now run it at double speed!

The 1000l tanks.

The hose that we have deployed and retrieved sampled 8 times with now!

Info screen on the Oden internal information system that very briefly reports on updates and on status of stations and progress.
